Question by Jay: Does the iPad have external speakers, and can you also plug headphones into it?
I’ve been thinking about getting an iPad. I was wondering if it had any sort of external speakers (or like the iPhone, doesn’t, but still can project sound)? And also if you can plug a regular headphone jack into it. It seems like it would be pretty thin (I’ve never used an iPad) so it seems kind of like regular headphones wouldn’t be able to plug into it.

The iPad has a speaker built-in. It’s along one edge, just to the right of where you’d plug it in or dock it. On the opposite edge, there is a headphone jack. So it plays sound just on it’s own without any accessories (and pretty well too), or you can plug in external speakers or headphones as you wish.

The short answer; generally yes.
The longer answer; It depends if you already have WiFi access at home. You might be able to get free ‘net from your neighbours.
If not, you’ll need to get a WiFi access point, but your modem might already have this built in. If not, they shouldnt be any more than $ 50
Or, if you’ve got a fairly recent mac, you can turn that into a WiFi access point for free

You can jailbreak your Ipad, although it would diminish your warranty, but you could then used external hard drives, if it was me, I wouldn’t jailbreak it.
The safari web browser in essence is almost exact;y the same than the iphone’s safari web browser, but due to the larger screen, it gives you the freedom of the proper safari web browser. So it feels like a computer web browser (although there isn’t flash)
There isn’t Microsoft office, but apple’s version which is called “iWork.” There is Pages (word/publisher), Numbers (excel) and Keynote (powerpoint.) I believe you can export them to Microsoft compatible files with only few issues

Well I am just a college student, and I spend hours in transportation between school and home and I was just wondering what a tablet PC was all about. Question by Mechanical: What’s the difference between Archos Portable Media Players and Archos Internet Media Tablets?
From what I can tell, they both serve the same purpose, and are similar in price based on hard disk capacity and screen size.
Also, does Archos make high quality products, and does Apple have any plans to make an iPod with at least a 250GB capacity?

as far as i can tell the new IMPs are better fit for web browsing, email etc. I Know they can play flash files, and apps, PDFs etc.
As for quality, i love archos. ive had a mp4 player for about 4 years, and runs awesome. i recommend archos for IMPs PMPs MP4 players etc.
