FYI: The hdd’s I am mentioning as “fried” were 1 Seagate 1.5TB “LP” series, 1 Seagate 1TB “LP” series, both 3.5″, latest gen and connected with a Fantec case via USB (using their own external power supply) and finally a 2.5″ WD Scorpio blue 500GB connected with an AC-Ryan case via USB (powered through the USB port). I never plugged or unplugged any USB device with the player powered on! This video was made with a Sony DRC-HC17E camcorder. The footage is 100% original and un-edited, except for the voice over I added to provide better quality regarding my comments/description. The original audio captured with my camcorder is still audible in the backround. So far LG has done nothing to adress ANY of the issues mentioned or shown in these videos. I hope posting the sad truth about their product will shake them and wake them up.

The NB30 has a 10.1-inch matte touch screen, Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB of hard drive space and Windows 7 Starter Edition. Its connectivity includes WiFi, Blutetooth and three USB ports. The NB30 is also available with a professional version with a full version of windows. The N210 comes with 10.1-Inch 1024 x 600 Display (Non Glossy / matte, Intel Atom N450, 250 GB HDD, 1 GB RAM, Card Reader, 0.3 webcam, Bluetooth,, wifi, 3 USBs and Win 7 Starter. The N135 is also 10.1 with the N450 CPU, 160GB HDD 1 GB RAM, Card Reader, 0.3 webcam, Bluetooth,, wifi, 3 USBs and Win XP. The most notable difference is that they keyboard is a more traditional keyboard that reminds us of the NC10 but upgraded. The N135 is there entry level unit. N150 include a 10.1? This is an example of the dreaded “clicking noise”, often signifying a defective hard drive. What a pity this drive is brand new and has no obvious SMART errors, even after an extensive test with smartctl. Take a look at the delays (appearance of icons in Finder) caused by this annoying self-parking. No more realtime audio editing possible. I wonder what Western Digital has to say about this, as this is the replacement for the same type of drive which had bad sectors – but NO clicking sounds. Customer service had me waiting for “just a month” now after the swap. Not that great. At least they replied, but with no real information about this issue… 1/2 of 5 stars.
