I bought 2 of them and I love them. If you go to velocity micro’s site, and on the right hand side you will see a “Support Hub” link, click there and scroll down a bit and you will see “How do I Factory Restore my Cruz Reader?”. Click there and you will see the full instructions.

Aside from extension cables, most cables are “male.” Male cables have a protrusion while female cables have a socket. Thus, the male “plugs in” to the female cable.
