Hi,
I am about to purchase either a 52″ Sony Bravia LCD (KDL-52V5100) or a 52″ Sharp Aquos (LC52D85U) or the 47″ LG LCD-LED (47LH90). When I do so I would already like to have everything I need (cables, external hardware hookups, etc.) to play COD 4: Modern Warfare and the upcoming COD: Modern Warfare 2 in HD at 1080p and fully take advantage of everything my new HDTV LCD and XBOX 360 have to offer.
I do not have a surround sound system yet, but that will be my next big purchase. I was wondering exactly what kind of cables, external hardware, converters or whatever I need to squeeze every last drop of performance out of the HDTV and 360.
I was reading online and there is “component HD cables”, “HDMI cables”, and “madcatz conversion kits” and “vga hd av cables”. Which of those do I need and which is the best? I’m willing to spend some money to make sure that everything is the best so please let me know.

I have a component video to VGA adapter that I just bought, but it is not working. All I get is a “check signal cable” message and a little bit of a flipping blob of dark colors. Any help would be much appreciated. I really need this to work.

this is very complicated, especially because the two devices that you want to hook up are of two different generations. Try calling a technician, maybe the Geek squad from best buy and ask them for their opinion, or ask someone from wherever you bougth the vga adapter.

Im not sure if my monitor supports HDCP but it does have an empty area underneath if i wanted to install a DVI plug.

Turn everything on – monitor + PS3.
Hold down the PS3 “soft” power button on the front (not the hard toggle button on the back) to reset the resolution.
That might do the trick for ya.

Question by Joe Kevin: Xbox 360 major problems. E79/E71 with detailed symptoms.?
I have an xbox 360 with the e79/ e71 error. When the harddrive is in,
i get the e79 or it freezes in the boot up. With the hdd out, i
usually get e71, but occasionally get e79 or no error and just 3 red
rings. I have not gotten it to the the dashboard in about 200 boots
and am starting to give up. I have tried deleting my cache and i have
tryed clearing all failed updates. A few weeks ago the cache thing
worked. It worked for a week then crashed again. I have recently
opened the xbox up. It was very dirty so i cleaned out the dust. It
worked for about 20 minutes so i decided to try online. I put in the
online cable and it told me to update. I did so. The first update went
smoothly, followed by 3 red rings. I restarted and i had to update
again. After i rebooted again. It crashed. It now takes about 30
seconds to begin booting. It eaither freezes in boot, or i receive
e71/ e79.
When it did get to dashboard it ran for about 5 minutes, then froze.
It has disk read errors when the disk is unscratched, and it has
problems connecting the wireless controllers. The controllers would
start the console but would not connect for me to move anything. It
may be normal, but there is also a rattling inside of the box too. It
sounds to be between the memory card slots and the av cable. (mabye a
broken x clamp weld?) i do not see any popped caps. I just found a
glue mold inside that was not connected to anything. It is about the
size of the width of the harddrive?? I recently powered on the console and forgot to attach the disk drive. it was not conected to the internet. could my console be tagged for tampering?
I would appreciate any help.

Would i be better off buying a new xbox arcade? Or does my hdd have a

By the way. My console is a first gen. It was sent to microsft in 2007
for rrod. I am now out of warenty and refuse to send it in for the
third time and pay $ 100 for it to only break a fourth time.

I would appreciate any thoughts on as to how i may fix this console.
