Seriously, plain old pen and paper (P&P) is still the best thing for taking notes in college.

P&P is cheaper, lighter, and more durable than a tablet PC.

P&P won’t bluescreen, crash or run out of batteries on you during a critical moment in class.

P&P allows you to seamlessly change between languages, or even draw free-form figures and diagrams.

If you want to create well organized, neat notes, that night after the class, rewrite the notes from class note book into a separate one you use for studying. Rewriting the information will help it sink in, and creating easy-to-read notes will help come exam time.

Seriously, leave the PC in your room.

Question by : Is there anything as good as the ipad that is not apple?
The ipad is amazing but i just find apple hard to work with. So what im looking for is a tablet that performs just as good with similar features but has a more netbook feel to it. I would get a netbook but it’s size etc is just to much. I just like the idea of pulling out a tablet a bam im ready to work. What do you suggest i get.

There is no machine out like the IPad. It is completely original and nobody has came close to releasing anything somewhat similar to the IPad. Although, their are Touch-Screen computers now out like this:
