Just a few days ago my Sony Vaio’s Hard drive: Seagate Momentus ST9250827 AS 250 GB 5400.4 RPM crashed and started making this sound. I recently upgraded my PS3 with a Seagate momentus XT 7200 hybrid SSD drive, and i did some video comparisons along the way. This is a comparison loading Tsukuba track in GT5 – gt mode, time trial. The Stock was done just before i swapped the drive out, the first load & second load were consecutive. My PS3 is a first gen fattie, and i apologise for my sniffles, – i took the opportunity to blow the dust out of it.
