Browsel.dll = bad virus

I ran into a particulary bad virus on a clients computer. AVG picked it up as a virus but could not move it to quarantine or delete it.  There is not a lot on the internet about this virus and how to remove. I ran AVG, Mcaffee, SDfix and a few others to try and get rid of it and nothing worked. Here some other steps I took:

  • Safe mode and delete , didn’t work
  • File unlocker didn’t work
  • AVG and Combo fix didn’t work
  • SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes didn’t work

The only way I could get rid of this is to use Bart PE and open the file manager while booted into Bart PE. Then delete the file.  Browsel.dll will continue to launch new malware on the machine until you get rid of it.

sat I contacted York Computer Repair and Walter came to my home that same day. Walter also did a great job of explaining what was wrong with my computer in terms that I could understand. I highly recommend calling York Computer Repair for any problems that you may have with your system. BrianDiehl76 on 10/08/2008
